CGEP@CSU Fullerton, formerly the Fullerton International Resources for Schools and Teachers (FIRST), is based in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at California State University, Fullerton. The Regional Director is Dr. Lisa McAllister. CGEP@CSU Fullerton provides professional development programs throughout Orange County and leads a Global Learning Task Force in the Inland Empire region with Teacher Leader Mandy Bush. CGEP@CSU Fullerton programs include Programs to Advance Cultural Education (PACE) on Korea and China, Intercultural Ambassadors, Writing & Technology in the History-Social Science Classroom, Global Citizens, and Teacher Leadership development.

Teachers at Middle College High School in Santa Ana Unified School District spent a day working with FIRST Director, Connie DeCapite to learn how to do student activities and a simulation activity on human rights.

CSUF student teachers in Dr. Jeff Kim’s class are participating in a Global Classroom activity with FIRST Director, Connie DeCapite. Together we are exploring global issues and competencies our students need to be able to understand and work with these real world issues.

As part of our FIRST Global Issues partnership with Norte Vista High School, CSUF history professor, Dr. William Haddad, is providing a speaking series on Middle East issues for Mandy Bush’s Global Classroom Leadership class.

Twenty administrators from guanxi china participated in FIRST global Ambassadors program with a visit and lunch at Savanna High School in the Anaheim Union High School District followed by a presentation by Superintendent mike Matsuda.
