It was great to meet up with Komakech as he was doing his last few papers of Senior 6.
Now the eager wait for exam results! And the search for funding for the next stage of education, since AREP has reached its limit with S6.
Almost there – last few days of S6
Nigel and Komakech
The St Helens Star publicised the 2015 AREP trip to Uganda. Well done to Erin and friends and your Head of Year for enthusing students in Year 8 at Rainford High.
As a result of this article, Wish FM called and sent a reporter round.
Schools can play a huge part in raising awareness for charities working locally and in other countries. If anyone would like our more detailed pack of information about any of the sponsored children, or what we’re hoping to achieve during the trip, please get in touch.
Today I’m taking the following to London to pass on to Ryan O’Byrne who is travelling out to Uganda in a few days time:
* 2 Solar lights
* 10 WAPIs (Water Pasteurisation Indicators)
* 2 Handbags
* 1 Hand-crafted toy
* Several hand-written letters
* Lots of photographs of Forms at Great Sankey High School and other supporters.
In our increasingly virtual world there is something very special about the physical and material.
Items en route from St Helens to Uganda via London
Update: It was wonderful to meet Ryan and hand over the letters, photos and other items.
Update on 31st July 2013: Okenggo John sent a message to say that Ryan and Marie made it to Kampala and the items were handed over safely.
